A great family weekend from Friday night to Sunday

Friday 13th

Widgee, Woolooga and Tansey Starting Points

A bar, barbeque, entertainment and free camping facilities are available. Breakfast is available for purchase on Saturday morning.

Kilkivan Showgrounds

A shuttle bus will be in operation from the Showgrounds to the Kilkivan Hotel, Left Bank Cafe and Snack Bars.  Breakfast is available at the Kilkivan Showgrounds on Saturday and Sunday morning, starting at 6:30 am.

9.00 pm Fred Brophy's Boxing Troupe

Australia's last boxing troupe. Limited shows - first time in this region for 15 years.

Ticket price $20, plus showground entry ($30). Tickets can be ordered from samoss@bigpond.com or by phoning 5484 7227. Limit 350 tickets.

Saturday 14th

The Five Trails

Set off from one of five points around Kilkivan Shire on a leisurely ride through some of the most scenic countryside in South East Queensland.

Trophy for 
Most senior Male 
Most senior Female 
Youngest Girl 
Youngest Boy 
Must complete full trail ride to be eligible.

All presentations will be made on stage at the Kilkivan Showgrounds.

 

Pony Club Challenge and 
Horse/Riding Club Challenge (not including Pony Clubs)

Trophy awarded for best conduct and presentation of club members. Judging will be conducted immediately prior to  the Grand Parade. Clubs need to register name prior to departure on the ride and club banner/flag to be carried in Grand Parade

Street Stalls and Markets

Huge variety of street stalls, cold drinks, food, fun for the kids, arts and crafts and entertainment.

4.00 pm

Grand Street Parade

At 4:00pm up to 1000 or more horses and riders, drivers and carriages begin to move down the wide main street of Kilkivan, until the whole street is a sea of moving horses. 

Nowhere else in Australia can such a spectacle, on such a scale be viewed.

5.30 pm

Courtesy Buses 

Courtesy buses will leave the Showgrounds at 5:30pm sharp and return to the starting points at Widgee, Woolooga and Tansey  for the recovery of vehicles. There'll only be one bus to each point.

Toyota Star Maker Winner 2004

Travis Collins is an up and coming Toyota Star Maker winner. He launched his debut album, “Start the Car”, at the 2005 Gympie Muster. The first single released from that album was “1000 Memories” went to #3 on the Country charts.

The popular Campfire Concert will be held in the Showgrounds commencing at 6:00pm and going until late.

Admission to Showgrounds by armband only. Armbands available pre-ride or at Showground on the night.
